For some odd reason, the kids think I have an obsession with teapots.
It might have something to do with the name of the blog. It might have something to do with the name of my Etsy shop. Or the Facebook page I maintain with the same name.
It also might have to do with some of the photography I’ve done, featuring said teapot. He managed to feature in quite a few of the earlier T&T posts from my Google days.
It may even be my pretty widely-used avatar photo – one of my favorite (read, time intensive, “Whatinhell did I get myself into???” PITA) ‘shop projects of all time:
Now…I don’t necessarily attach myself to teapots exclusively. I freely love all unique glassware. I remember dropping into mourning when the teacup fell out of its bag and shattered on the pavement.
I wrote a very heartfelt and appropriate post celebrating our creative collaboration together, and wore black for a whole DAY.
I was saddened when Spook dragged one of my ceramic comedy/tragedy masks off the wall, and I found it in pieces in the morning.
I used the pieces in a photography project, one of the shots ended up as album art for the SQO’s band’s album.
I’m even a little upset over the glass I broke last week, because I forgot it was in the fridge and pulled something out behind it.
Glass slivers in the bottom of the feet seriously suck!!!
But I’m not obsessed with JUST teapots…I have objects De Drinkware all over the blog:
If it throws a reflection, sparkle, or glimmer and is unusual, it catches my eye.
Anyway – the kids went down to Goodwill last weekend, and brought me something that I HAD to share:
Ladies and Gentlemen…may I proudly present: OCTOPOT!
If ever there was a time I was tempted to change out my blog banner for a new one…this would be the new ‘T’ in the T&T, because it’s just too damned adorable to be hidden 😀
